Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeing & Payroll Manager to join our team in this hybrid role. Our ideal addition is able to use cloud-based applications and a variety of software tools while splitting hours between home and required office time. Following through with our commitments and meeting deadlines is of the utmost importance. Key Responsibilities:

Client Interaction: Maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction, and establishing and upholding quality control standards to maximize client retention and growth.

Staff Development: Leading and mentoring team members. Lead a weekly Bookkeeping WIP call with staff. Attend monthly Manager’s meeting and any other required company meetings.

Prepare Financial Statements: Use Quickbooks to record all business transactions in a proper way to accurately reflect the clients financial activity for each period.

Local Sales Tax Returns: Prepare and submit sales tax returns for clients as needed.

Payroll Processing: Working directly with clients to gather any payroll information needed to set up and process payroll accurately and on time. Ensure all payroll tax returns are processed timely and accurately.

Financial Statement Reviews: Insure all clients P&Ls and Balance Sheets have been reviewed and delivered to the client upon completion. This will involve closing out year end and month end books, making necessary journal entries and holding periodic meetings with clients to discuss their financials.

Financial Statement Analysis: Identify cost saving opportunities and compliance with relevant regulations as well as GAAP standards. Search for referral opportunities.

Tax Season Support: Enter our clients completed financials into tax software as needed.

New Client Development: Attend networking events to support company growth and represent the company in a professional and engaging manner. Perform initial free consultations for prospective bookkeeping and payroll clients. Onboard new clients as needed.

Financial Systems: Maintain and update accounting software and systems to ensure efficient and accurate financial management.

Other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: QuickBooks Certification. Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, finance and/or payroll processing with a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Proven track record of preparing and reviewing books.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Patriot Payroll or Karbon experience a plus.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant financial regulations.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, provide actionable insights and feedback to staff.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing tax returns and financial reporting.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues and proactively take action or recommend solutions.

Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
