Description
Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door (Irish Rover Too) Tickets available at Karen's Book Barn & Java Shop, Serendipity Cafe & Gifts, Dizzy Dave's, and Main Street Boutique This event began in 2009, when a local merchant, Cindy Adams, learned she had ovarian cancer. Adams decided she'd take the national event and make it local and a progressive one, where guests could sample teas at each shop as they made their way down Main Street in La Grange. Cindy died March 31, 2009, just a few weeks before the first tea party, but her legacy lives on in this event, which is held on a Sunday in spring each year in conjunction with Baptist Hospital. One-Hundred percent of the proceeds from this event go to OAK (Ovarian Awareness Kentucky). The event begins at Irish Rover Too, where participants pick up their tea cups and maps. From there, enjoy all that the merchants have to offer, including a wellness center featuring local healers. NOTE: We're collecting tea cups. From what I understand, we need about 400 of them as donations only (if they're missing saucers, that's ok). If anyone wants to donate teacups, please take them to Serendipity. The drive for the cups is going on in Louisville as well, with OAK as a drop off point (4010 Dupont Circle, Suite 275. Dupont Professional Towers, 2nd floor. Louisville, KY 40207).
