Soapbox Derby
WHAT: The family oriented sport of soapbox derby racing is featured in time for Father's Day 2013. This race teaches kids important lessons about mechanics, physics and good sportsmanship. (Just like it did in the classic show, Little Rascals). The 76th edition of the traditional American race takes place June 15 in LaGrange, KY. Two winners from this local race move on to the World Championships in Akron, OH in July.
Derby organizer John Martin will bring state-of-the-art weight scales to ensure each car meets national guidelines.
Hometown Pizza is this years title sponsor, and will choose their soapbox driver from the children of Hometown Employees.
