SUMMARY:Book Signing with Robert "Andy" Gowens
DESCRIPTION:Book Signing with R Andy Gowens\n\n\n\nBorn in 1969 in R. "Andy" Gowins grew up in the small town of Possum Trot\, Kentucky. He graduated from the Western Kentucky University (Kentucky) in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts and then again in 1992 with a Master of Public Administration. After graduating with his M.P.A. he spent several years working in corporate America before graduating from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity (2002) and his Doctor of Education (2006).\n\n \n\nHe has been a disciple of the Lord Jesus since the summer of 1978 when he gave his life to Christ at a Vacation Bible School. He accepted his call to ministry while attending W.K.U. in the spring of 1990 and has been in vocational ministry ever since.\n\n \n\nHe now lives in Hartford\, Kentucky with his wife Debbie who is an elementary school teacher. He has two adult children. The greatest honor and privilege he has besides his relationship with the Lord\, is his call to be a husband\, a father\, and most recently a G-Pa. After his personal relationship with God his family takes priority.\n\n \n\nHe currently serves as the co-pastor of East Hartford Baptist Church (Hartford\, Kentucky)\, as well as an Associate Professor for Liberty University (Lynchburg\, Virginia) in their School of Divinity's on-line program. Published works include Prove Thyself a Man: Encouraging Your Son to be a Man of Character\; he was a contributor to Mounce's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words\; as well as various reviews for the Christian Education Journal and The Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society.\n\n \n\nWhen he is not working\, he enjoys backpacking\, camping\, cheering on his beloved Vanderbilt Commodores\, Tennessee Titans\, and/or Nashville Predators.\n\n\n\nBook Synopsis\n\n \n\nRevelations of the End: A Fresh Look at an Ancient Eschatology is not a traditional chapter-and-verse breakdown of the major themes of the New Testament book of Revelation. It is\, however\, an eschatological commentary that utilizes the framework of the book of Revelation to revisit the traditional and orthodox end-time teachings of the church for most of its history. The book attempts to address the eschatological expectations of the early first-century church\, for whom this apocalyptic and prophetic letter was originally written. It seeks to explain the Old Testament eschatological expectations through the structure of\n\nNew Testament eschatological revelations as expressed through the letter of Revelation and hopefully informs the modern reader how he/she is to live in the reality of these last days.
